MLA poster sessions

December 7th, 2005 admin No comments

At this year’s MLA convention in Washington DC, the Committee on Information Technology is sponsoring a session on tools for electronic scholarship to be held on Thursday, December 29th from 12:00-1:15 pm in Delaware Suite A at the Marriott. Co-organized by Michael Groden and Kenneth Price, the panel is entitled “New Technologies of Literary Scholarly Investigation.” It will be structured as an electronic poster session, with five or six presenters stationed at computers around the room demonstrating their projects and speaking informally to whoever stops by. As someone who has been affiliated with the William Blake Archive (http://www.blakearchive.org) since 1996, I will be discussing how the WBA has been and is being used by researchers and teachers. If you have incorporated the WBA in your own scholarship or teaching, I would very much like to hear from you. I’m interested in compiling a bibliography of scholarship that cites the WBA, locating syllabi that include it, and collecting examples of assignments that ask students to make use of it in some way. Please email me citations, urls, handouts, attachments, or project descriptions offlist at karimkraus at gmail.com.
