2048. Robert Southey to John Murray, 25 February [1812] *

Keswick. Feby. 25. 1811  [1]

My dear Sir

The paragraph which I missed too late in the sheet M. has made its appearance here p. 147. [2]  I shall be glad if it can be restored to its proper place, – but if that, as I fear, is the case, I have adapted it as well as the thing allowed to its present situation. – Tomorrow the two concluding proofs will be returned together with the Postscript, – & a dedication if I can compass one, which is very doubtful. – If I do it will be in blank verse. – I have been all day employed upon these sheets.

Mr Rodds book [3]  shall be returned as soon & as carefully as possible.

Yrs very truly

R Southey.
