The Collected Letters of Robert Southey Part 4: 1810-1815

2566. Robert Southey to William Gifford, 5 March 1815 *

5. March 1815

My dear Sir

I send [1]  you a few pages respecting poor Barré Roberts, whose papers have {made} me respect him almost as much as if he had been personally known to me. The extracts will make the article amusing, – the mere fact that the book is unpublished gives a value to it & he has some claim to this little mark of respect in your journal. [2]

I have much in hand for you & xx more in mind.

Believe me my dear Sir

Very truly & respectfully yours

Robert Southey
