The Collected Letters of Robert Southey Part 3

931. Robert Southey to Grosvenor Charles Bedford, [1] May 1804 *

Dear Grosvenor

I have an Edithling – very fat, large & ugly. she was born last night, & thank God all is well – as well as X possibly can be. Edith was taken ill a little before six in the evening, & the young one as if instinctively knowing that I do not like to be kept up late at night was very dutifully born before ten.

If you do not hear from me next week you will see me.

Vale.

RS.

May day. 1804.
