Welcome to the Romantic Circles Pedagogy Commons. This
is a new, peer-reviewed, online journal dedicated to the presentation
of essays about teaching that offer sample teaching materials
as well, from printable handouts to "digital-born" teaching materials.
This journal presents articles about how teaching works. Occasionally,
in an essay about teaching, the writer of the essay will say,
"Then I get students to see that . . . ." Sometimes whatever follows
the "that" is in fact less significant than what has been elided.
What's missing is an answer to the question, HOW? How do you get
students to see what you see in a text? Do you just TELL themi.e.,
use lecture format? How does a discussion work that leads to that
insight? What assignments given to students before or during class
discussion either bring students to your insights or generate
unpredictable classroom exchanges?
Each issue of the Pedagogy Commons has a special guest editor:
the editor selects articles for review based on a paper prospectus
submitted for an issue, then reviews final papers before sending
them on to be reviewed by the Romantic Circles editorial board.
Acceptance notification will be received approximately two months
after submission.
