Borushko, "'A nation or a world': Patriotism in Shelley"

Borushko argues for the relevance of Shelley's often-overlooked invocations of patriotism to both his aesthetics and his politics. As a rhetorical gesture, Shelleyean patriotism at once motivates reform and occasions community. This essay appears in _Romanticism and Patriotism: Nation, Empire, Bodies, Rhetoric_, a volume of _Romantic Circles Praxis Series_, prepared exclusively for Romantic Circles (http://www.rc.umd.edu/), University of Maryland.
