Long praised by cavers, artists, and travel writers, Weathercote Cave is on private land and not currently open to public view. This area of Northern England was one of Wordsworth’s favorites as witnessed by his sequence of three sonnets “Suggested by Mr. W. Westall’s Views of the Caves, Etc., in Yorkshire” (1819).
