P.M.S. Dawson

P.M.S. Dawson is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester. He is the author of The Unacknowledged Legislator: Shelley and Politics (1980) and editor or co-editor of two volumes in the Garland Bodleian Shelley MSS series. He is co-editor, with Prof. Eric Robinson and David Powell, of the Oxford English Texts edition of the complete poetry of John Clare, two volumes of which (covering "The Shepherd's Calendar" and other poems of the Helpston period) were published in 1996 and a further two (covering "The Midsummer Cushion" and associated poems) in 1998. The last volume, including the poetry of the Northborough period and corrections to the previous volumes, is in preparation and will be published in 2000 or 2001. The same editorial team have already published volumes of Clare's "Cottage Tales" and "Northborough Sonnets" (1993, 1995) and are currently preparing a volume of Clare's political verse and prose. Dr. Dawson also has a research interest in the modern graphic novel.
